Depth of trunk is the limiting factor for this car: a quite short chair will be ok. Otherwise quite roomy. Check by putting the wheelchair in the trunk with castors to the hatch and see how much if any forward / aft movement there is with the hatch closed.

Very large square shaped boot is good for the Abiloader: and a good delivery position as the car is not very long. This is the replacement in NZ for the Australian origin Territory. This new version has some unfortunate changes that reduce the effectiveness of what was a best-in-class boot! Height of opening is lower: lower corners of the aperture have been rounded a lot. Floor for some random reason slopes up throwing away useful space. It's just packing underneath! Width of the transfer distance from sill edge to seat squab is now 250mm making a big gap to bridge - so our Transfer Bench may well be needed more often.

Very wide and long boot: roomy car: good for Abiloader: will take large wheelchairs. See note on MD onward chassis versions that are less favourable. Max D2 calculated as 620: seats must be tilted forward and some trim in boot cut into. Width (in boot) more than a metre.

Nicer style than the trailblazer. Longer but lower transfer.

May be able to be done but really a poor choice for Abi. Too narrow at the bottom of trunk: but up 100 its 950. But then vert is less than the now increased threshold.

Typical SUV - fairly small trunk so can work with smaller chairs. Rear seat squab has 2 angles - check chairs with more vertical position: if it does not fit with it reclined.

Bumper has an unhelpful bump and a fairly low boot opening make the delivery point a bit further from driver. Does work: but check your ability to reach the latch.

Electric hatch. W=1080 much higher up. (GE just moved across 3 nos - to be chkd!). Rear passenger doors open very wide to past 90degrees! Wide Kit made it harder with CRV as only installed base 300mm deep. Spare length 50mm with seats angled forward (+50mm D2).

Measurements for first generation model. These are now made up until 2014 in new gen shapes and 7 seaters and some 4WD. These likely have more boot depth and look very good for the Abiloader. Boot opening shape is very good and square. Likely not to have electric seats: which is a shame as otherwise a great option.
