Electric Boot Openers

Where people find the raising and lowering of the boot lid of their wagon or SUV difficult, we can fit an electric boot opener. This is controlled by a wireless remote, allowing the boot to be opened as you approach the vehicle. For people in a wheelchair, on crutches, or a little weak this is a major bonus, as reaching the height of an open boot and lowering it can be a challenge.

Wheelchair adaptations

Electric drive-assist wheels for chairs

As well we have available electric drive-assist wheels for chairs, which allow people to avoid the very expensive move to a fully powered wheelchair.
Images of these new options will be available here shortly.

We will inspect your vehicle, assess the best approach to improving your mobility, and price a solution for your needs.

What our customers say about us

I helped my father get a hand control system for his car. Michael and the team were great communicators and the hand control works exactly as they said in the time that they said. My father is very happy now he has his independence back. Great company to deal with.

5 stars all the way. Fantastic service and kept informed every step of the way. And the product is absolutely fantastic. Excellent follow-up service as well!!

Can’t say enough about this company, I certainly endorse all the other positive reviews for their products and services. After 50,000kms all modifications are still performing perfectly a testimony of the quality of their products. Highly recommend.

I find myself stopping more especially after work to do things where before I would wait for the weekend.

Thank you sooooooooo much I couldn’t thank you guys enough! Looking forward to having my independence, thanks to Abiliquip!
Life savers.

The Abiloader is working perfectly and totally saves me from any lifting and wear and tear on my shoulders in particular. Alan (Astec Services) did a fantastic job of fitting the equipment to my vehicle and has finished off everything very neatly. We are really pleased with the outcome.

It’s just over a month since I got my own personal robot now called Abe, so I thought I’d say thanks as it has made a huge difference to my independence. The Abiloader is fantastic I can now get into and out of the house, work etc unassisted, in the rain or on windy days it is even better. I even get an audience of onlookers when I deploy outside the supermarket. I have no hesitation in telling them it was built in NZ by a company in Christchurch. Thanks again for your help.

WTF!!!!! That is awesome. I am sending the link to one client now….oh my!

I thought I’d touch base having had the Abiloader for a week now. The loader is absolutely fantastic!! It will make such a difference to my daily life and to the tendonitis in my wrist, not to mention no more throwing my chair over my shoulder into the rear seat.
It is a wonderful, life-altering device!

It is now nearly a week since I took delivery of my new Zafira, so I thought I should let you know how pleased I am with the Abiloader. It is living up to all my hopes and expectations.

Without your skill, ingenuity and determination to make it work, I am sure this would not have been possible. Your attention to detail in adjusting and modifying not only the Abiloader, but also my wheelchair was first class practical engineering of the highest order. I am very happy if you want to use me as a reference for any future potential customers or the Abiloader

There are a few options available for those looking to get funding for modifications needed due to a disability in New Zealand. One option is to apply for a disability support grant from the Ministry of Health. This grant can be used to cover the costs of modifications such as ramps, handrails, and wheelchair accessible bathrooms. Another option is to apply for a grant from the ACC. This grant can be used to cover the costs of modifications such as wheelchair ramps, handrails, and specialised vehicles. Finally, some local councils offer funding for disability related modifications. This funding can be used to cover a wide range of modifications, such as wheelchair ramps, accessible bathrooms, and assistive technology

Great! Contact us through the form online and we will be in touch.
